Orton-Gillingham Reading Tutor (certified)

Job responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individualized 1:1 lessons

• Set learning objectives and provide informal assessment with written progress notes

• Communicate with families and teachers

 

Hours

• Must be available for summer and after school hours 3-5 days/week, primarily between 2:30-6:30pm

• Option for weekend hours

• In-person sessions with occasional need for virtual

 

Clients Served

• Primarily elementary and middle school-aged students with needs in reading, spelling, phonological awareness, writing, comprehension

 

Qualifications and skills

• Current certification in Orton-Gillingham

• Experienced with elementary and/or middle school special education

• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, executive function needs

• Master's degree in education or a related field​
